About Hope for the Family Ministries (HFTF)

HFTF ministries grew out of 13 years of inner city youth ministry in Chicago. During that time, my wife and I saw the devastating effects that absent fathers, teenage mothers, and dysfunctional homes can have on families, young people, churches, and society in general. We wanted to help families know the true meaning of making Christ first in their lives. Without Jesus Christ as the center, the lives people lead is like a circle that does not connect. Christ brings meaning, purpose, and hope.

Our mission is to introduce people, and their families, to the saving message of Jesus Christ. We want them to realize the amazing difference Christ and the Bible can make in their marriage, family, and personal lives.

We Believe:

Adapted from Focus on the Family’s Statement of Faith

We believe that the ultimate purpose is to know and glorify God and to attain eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, beginning within our own families, and then reaching out to a suffering humanity that does not know of his love and sacrifice.

We believe that the institution of marriage was intended by God to be a permanent, lifelong relationship between a man and a woman, regardless of trials, sickness, financial reverses, or emotional stresses that may ensue.

We believe children are a heritage from God and a blessing from His hand. We are therefore accountable to Him for raising, shaping, and preparing them for a life of service to His kingdom and humanity.

We believe that human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the unborn and aged.

We believe that God has ordained three basic institutions - the church, the family, and the government - for the benefit of all humankind.

Our commitment to these principles is apparent at every level throughout this ministry. The values and techniques taught to parents are drawn from the wisdom of the Bible and Judeo-Christian ethics, rather than from the humanistic notions of today’s theorists.
